Beer Braised Pork Chops with pears
"These tender chops in savory sauce are perfect for a hectic weeknight because they're so easy to prepare. Anjou pears add a sweetness to this beer braised pork chop. Step 1: In a large skillet, preheat olive oil over medium high heat. Season pork chops with sea salt and pepper. Then add to skillet and sear until lightly browned, about 4 minutes per side. Transfer chops to a bowl.
Step 2: preheat 1 tablespoon olive oil. Add pears to skillet and sauté over medium heat until golden, about 6 minutes. Transfer pears to bowl with pork chops.
Step 3: Add beer and sage into pan. Scrape up caramelized bits from bottom with a wooden spoon. Add a ketchup and brown sugar.
Step 4: Add pork chops and pears back to the pan and bring to a simmer over medium high heat. Partially cover skillet with lid, reduce heat to low , and braise until chops are cooked through, about 12 to 14 minutes.
Step 5: Remove chops and pears from pan. Skim away any fat from liquid, increase heat to medium , and cook until sauce is reduced by half. Cook about 10 minutes. When sauce is ready serve beer braised pork chops topped with pears and sauce.
Step 6: Freeze option :Place pork chops in freezer containers; top with sauce. Cool and freeze. To use, partially thaw in refrigerator overnight. Heat through in a covered saucepan, gently stirring sauce and adding a little water if necessary.
